A workspace's AI is its own setting, not an integration. AI providers and what Ask answers with were connections like Sentry's or Linear's: rows of `connections`, cards in the Integrations directory, `provider` values of the integration operations. Integrations are becoming a directory others publish to; a workspace's AI is a base setting g1t looks after itself. Contracts: `g1t_contracts::ai` (and packages/contracts ai.ts) has AiProvider (the 14), AiGroup (labs, platforms, self_hosted), AiConfig, AiConnection and their methods' arguments, and the Ask types moved there; AskSetup names the provider by `provider_id` and `provider_name` (were connection_id, connection_name). `integrations::Provider` is sentry, datadog, webhook, jira and linear; ProviderKind loses Models, ConnectionConfig its base_url, auth_header and model, Connection its models. Storage: integrations migration 0011 makes `ai_providers` and `ai_routes`, moves the AI rows out of `connections` with their ids (sealed keys are bound to the id, and managed_agents and agent_runs keep finding them), keeps Ask's route and drops `model_routes`; renaming and deleting a workspace cover both tables. The service keeps them in src/ai.rs with methods of their own (ai_list, ai_add, ai_update, ai_remove, ai_test, ask_settings, set_ask_settings, ask); a provider's key is checked when added and on each test; removing one turns Ask off when it answered with it and forgets its managed agent. Sessions on issues find the workspace's Anthropic provider there. API: list_ai_providers, add_ai_provider, update_ai_provider, remove_ai_provider, test_ai_provider (/workspaces/{workspace}/ai/providers[/{id}[/test]]), get_ask_settings and set_ask_settings (/workspaces/{workspace}/ai/ask), under the OpenAPI tag AI; reading takes workspace:read, changing workspace:admin and an owner's own token; the integration operations take only integration providers. MCP: a tool `ai` (list_providers, add_provider, update_provider, remove_provider, test_provider, get_ask, set_ask). The CLI's operation table and command reference are regenerated. Site: AI at /<workspace>/-/ai (the sidebar's AI → Models, the command palette's AI models) holds Ask g1t, the providers and Add a provider, grouped Frontier labs, Model platforms, Self-hosted or your own gateway; AI providers are no longer in the Integrations directory or Apps, and the integrations pages are alerts and trackers only; -/integrations/models and ?add=<an AI provider> lead to -/ai. Ask's settings link, and @g1t's "not set up yet" in Chat, point there. Docs: the AI providers guide (with its API), and the integrations, Ask, sessions, CLI, plugin and MCP pages say so. Deploy the integrations migration first, then integrations, then api, chat and web. Checked: cargo test for g1t-contracts (309), g1t-integrations (70), g1t-api (204, the OpenAPI document regenerated) and the CLI (105 and 44, the command reference current); cargo check --workspace; wasm32 checks of api and integrations; every migration applied in order to SQLite with an AI provider, a Sentry connection and Ask's route; the site's tsc -b --force, 927 tests and a production build; contracts' 48; chat's 76 and typecheck; the deploy tool's 92; the docs build (521 pages).

You bring your own agent; these tools are how it reads and changes what is on g1t, as the person or token it acts for. Repositories are named \"owner/name\"; issues and pull requests in one share a sequence of numbers.
14−Tools are resources, each with an `action`: search, repository, issue, pull_request, session, workflow, observability, package, secret, webhook, access, team, workspace, billing, security, notifications, account, artifact. The `action` field lists each action and the fields it needs. You see only what your token's scopes allow; a refusal names the scope it needs.

The `action` field lists each action and the fields it needs. You see only what your token's scopes allow; a refusal names the scope it needs.
1515 Find a repository: account whoami lists your workspaces; repository list or search finds one.
1616 Work on an issue: issue work (everything about it: what done means, who is on it, its pull requests, what it waits on), issue claim (advisory: it tells you who else is on it), then pull_request create with the issue's number: you get a draft with its own fork to clone and push to. Push your commits, then pull_request ready with a summary. Watch `overlaps` and `behind` on pull_request get, and its checks there: `statuses` from the repository's workflows and `required_checks`, which must pass before it merges. If one fails, read why with workflow get_run and job_logs, push a fix, and the checks run again.
1717 Coordinate: session start once per run of your harness (harness_session_id makes it idempotent), session update as a heartbeat, session get between work steps to read pending updates. Reading does not acknowledge: consider relevant changes, record a public decision summary, then session record with acknowledge containing only the exact update IDs considered. Keep your own session ID explicit, especially when sharing a checkout. Separate scopes may proceed concurrently; agree ownership before overlapping edits. session end when done; issue release or handoff (with a note) when you stop.

2+title: AI providers
3+description: Choose the models g1t works with in your workspace. Use a frontier lab or a model platform, or a model you host yourself, on your own keys. Ask, @g1t in Chat and sessions on issues answer with them.
4+---
5+
6+**AI**, at `g1t.sh/<workspace>/-/ai`, is where a workspace chooses the
7+models g1t works with. It is one of the workspace's own settings, like
8+Billing or Runners, and not an integration: the
9+[Integrations](/guides/integrations/) directory is for connecting other
10+products, such as Sentry or Linear.
11+
12+Everything here runs on your workspace's own keys. g1t hosts no model for
13+it and bills nothing for it: what a model costs is on your provider's
14+bill, under your agreement with them.
15+
16+What uses it:
17+
18+- **[Ask g1t](/guides/ask/)**, in the top bar, and **@g1t in Chat**
19+ answer with the provider and model chosen under **Ask g1t**.
20+- **Sessions on issues** start on the workspace's Anthropic provider. See
21+ [Start a session on your Anthropic account](/guides/sessions/#start-a-session-on-your-anthropic-account).
22+
23+Only workspace owners add, test, change and remove providers, and choose
24+what Ask uses. Members see which providers there are and what Ask answers
25+with.
26+
27+## Choose where models come from
28+
29+**Add a provider** lists them in three groups. A workspace can have any
30+number of providers, from any mix of groups.
31+
32+| Group | Providers | What it needs |

35+| Model platforms | Azure OpenAI, OpenRouter, Groq, Together AI, Fireworks AI, Cerebras | An API key. Azure OpenAI also needs your resource's endpoint and the deployment's name. |
36+| Self-hosted or your own gateway | Anthropic-compatible endpoint, OpenAI-compatible endpoint | A base URL over `https://`, and a key if it asks for one |
37+
38+**Self-hosted or your own gateway** is for a model you run yourself
39+(vLLM, Ollama behind a tunnel) or a gateway in front of other providers
40+(LiteLLM, your own proxy, Amazon Bedrock or Google Vertex AI behind one).
41+For an Anthropic-compatible endpoint, give the base URL without `/v1`,
42+such as `https://llm.acme.dev`. For an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, give
43+it up to and including the version, such as `https://llm.acme.dev/v1`. The
44+key is sent as `x-api-key` (Anthropic's header) or
45+`Authorization: Bearer` (OpenAI's and most others'), whichever you choose.
46+
47+You can name the model your team uses on each provider. It is optional,
48+except for Azure OpenAI, where it is the deployment.
49+
50+## Look after a provider
51+
52+- **Test.** g1t checks a key when it is saved, and again whenever you
53+ choose **Test**, by asking the provider for its models. A key that
54+ works shows how many models it offers. One that fails says why, on the
55+ provider, until it next works. An endpoint that does not list its
56+ models is reached, but its key cannot be checked this way.
57+- **Change.** **Change its model, address or key** sets a new model or
58+ address, or replaces the key. The old key is gone once the new one is
59+ saved.
60+- **Remove.** The **×** on a provider removes it and deletes its key. If
61+ Ask was using it, Ask is turned off until an owner chooses another.
62+
63+Keys are sealed when they are saved and never shown again, to anyone. The
64+page shows only their last four characters, so you can tell keys apart.
65+A key is used to call the provider and is never sent to your browser.
66+
67+## Choose what Ask answers with
68+
69+Under **Ask g1t**, at the top of the page, an owner chooses one of the
70+workspace's providers and its model, then **Use for Ask**:
71+
72+- **Auto**, the default, picks a model of that provider for each
73+ question: a fast one for a short lookup, a standard one for questions
74+ about why, how, what shipped, or a long conversation. See
75+ [Auto](/guides/ask/#auto).
76+- **A model by name** uses that one for every answer. Choose from the
77+ models the provider offered when it was last tested, or, for one that
78+ lists none, write the name.
79+
80+**Turn Ask off** stops Ask and @g1t answering until a provider is chosen
81+again.
82+
83+## From the API
84+
85+Owners manage a workspace's AI through the API and MCP with a person's
86+token (a workspace token cannot). Members can list the providers and read
87+what Ask answers with.

103+`provider` is one of `anthropic`, `openai`, `gemini`, `xai`, `mistral`,
104+`deepseek` (frontier labs), `azure_openai`, `openrouter`, `groq`,
105+`together`, `fireworks`, `cerebras` (model platforms), `anthropic_endpoint`
106+or `openai_endpoint` (self-hosted or your own gateway). `config` takes
107+`base_url`, `auth_header` (`x-api-key` or `authorization`) and `model`.
108+The key is checked as it is saved: the response's `models` lists what it
109+offers, and `last_error` says why a check failed. `secret` is write-only;
110+`secret_hint` shows its last four characters.
111+
112+To choose what Ask answers with, `PUT /workspaces/{workspace}/ai/ask` with
113+`provider_id` (a provider's `id`) and `model` (`auto` for
114+[Auto](/guides/ask/#auto), or a model it offers). Without `provider_id`,

97−
98−- **Add one.** Choose a provider and paste its API key. Anthropic, OpenAI,

100− Fireworks AI and Cerebras need only the key. Azure OpenAI also needs
101− your resource's endpoint and the deployment's name. An Anthropic- or
102− OpenAI-compatible endpoint (your own gateway, LiteLLM, vLLM and the
103− like) needs its base URL over `https://`, and takes a key if it asks for
104− one, sent as `x-api-key` or `Authorization: Bearer`. You can name the
105− model your team uses on each.

107− **Test**, by asking the provider for its models. A key that works shows
108− how many models it offers; one that fails says why, on the connection,

110− reached, but its key cannot be checked this way.
111−- **Change.** **Change its model, address or key** sets a new model or

122−
123−With an **Anthropic** connection, members can also start a session on an
124−issue (**Start a session** on the issue, or `g1t work dispatch`): a Claude
