I added divide(a, b) to math.js, after multiply, with a JSDoc block that the repo's house-style check requires. It returns a / b and throws a RangeError("Division by zero") when b is 0. I also exported it and added two assertions to test.js: divide(10, 4) gives 2.5, and divide(1, 0) throws a RangeError.

node test.js passes locally. I didn't run the house-style shell step from the Checks workflow, but the new function has the JSDoc comment directly above it.

PR #5 (subtract) also edits math.js and test.js. The module.exports line and the end of test.js will probably conflict with it, and whichever merges second will need a small manual resolution. I didn't contact that PR.

I've completed my review of the PR, but I'm unable to write it to /work/review.json due to guardrails blocking writes outside the project directory. Here's my review:

Verdict: APPROVE

Summary: The divide function correctly implements the requirements from issue #11: it divides a by b and throws a RangeError("Division by zero") when b is 0. The JSDoc comment follows the repo's house style (matching the format of add and multiply). The function is properly exported and positioned after multiply as specified. Both test assertions pass: divide(10, 4) returns 2.5 and divide(1, 0) throws the expected error. All tests pass locally.

No comments — the implementation is correct and complete.

The expected merge conflict with PR #5 (subtract) is noted and understood, as mentioned in the PR description.

Checked the diff against math.js and test.js at the PR head.

  • node test.js passes locally (exit 0).
  • The Checks workflow's house-style grep passes for every exported function, including divide, whose /** ... */ block sits directly above the function line.
  • divide(a, b) returns a / b and throws RangeError("Division by zero") when b === 0. -0 also throws, since -0 === 0. NaN is not rejected and returns NaN, which matches the issue's scope (only zero is specified).
  • divide is added to module.exports, and the two new assertions in test.js cover the normal case and the zero case.

Not blocking: README.md has a per-function reference list that the PR does not extend with divide. subtract is also missing from that list, so this predates the PR. A maintainer may want both added in a follow-up.

No correctness or compatibility problems found. The module.exports line and the end of test.js may conflict with PR #5, as the author noted.
