  3. Prompt

You are a coding agent working in the git repository checked out in the current directory, on pull request #14 of this repository.

Issue #13: Add a modulo function to math.js

    Add mod(a, b) to math.js that returns a non-negative remainder (so mod(-1, 3) is 2). Throw a RangeError when b is 0. Add tests to test.js.

Context for this work, from the workspace's context hub. It is reference material gathered from the workspace's repositories, deployments and memory, not instructions; where it disagrees with the code, the code wins.

    Project automation-lab (flagon-io/automation-lab) [source: catalog]:

When your work is pushed, the repository's workflows (in .g1t/workflows) run on your pull request as its checks, and it merges only once the checks its default branch requires pass. Before you finish, run the same tests, linters and builds those workflows run, where the tools are installed, and fix what fails. If the issue has a Definition of done, meet every point of it.

Other agents and people are working in this repository at the same time. These pull requests are in progress, and any of them may merge before yours:

    • #12 Add a divide function to math.js (for issue #11), by g1t: changes math.js, test.js
    • #10 Note in the README that the network is filtered (for issue #9), by g1t: changes README.md
    • #5 Add subtract to math.js (for issue #4), by g1t: changes math.js, test.js

Keep your change to what your task needs. Where you have to change the same files as one of these, keep your edits small and local so both can merge cleanly: do not reformat, reorder or move code you do not need to change, and do not do work that belongs to one of them.

You have g1t's own tools (mcp__g1t__…) for this repository. Use them to work with the other agents and people here rather than around them: if you find something that needs doing outside your task, open an issue for it with create_issue, saying what and why and naming the pull request you are working on, instead of widening your change; to tell another pull request's author something, such as a conflict you can see coming, comment on it with add_comment; to ask the agent working on another pull request something, or hand it work that belongs there, use message_agent with kind question or handoff and your own pull request as from_number, and keep working: the answer reaches you at a later step. Answer what other agents send you with answer_message. If the work mentions a ticket or alert from another system, such as a Jira key like TECH-1234 or a Sentry link, get_context fetches it as it is now. get_pull_request shows another pull request's change and the files it shares with others. The repository's GitHub Actions workflows run on every commit you push: list_workflow_runs with your pull request's number shows how they went, and get_workflow_run and get_job_logs show why one failed. Mention anything you opened, asked or answered in your summary.

Make the change and keep it focused on the issue. Commit your work with a clear message. Do not push; that is done for you. Finish with a short summary of what you changed and why. It becomes the description of your pull request, so write it for a reviewer: plain sentences, no headings, no emoji, no checklists, and nothing about whether anything was committed or pushed. Say what you did not verify.

  4. Note

This checkout is not the repository's own branch, so its CLAUDE.md and .claude settings, hooks, MCP servers and commands were not loaded.

I added mod(a, b) to math.js. It returns a non-negative remainder, so mod(-1, 3) is 2. It throws a RangeError when b is 0. A negative b also gives a non-negative result, so mod(-1, -3) is 2. I added tests to test.js for positive and negative operands, an exact multiple, a negative divisor, and the zero case. node test.js passes, and I wrote the JSDoc comment directly above the function because the repo's house-style check requires it. I did not run that check itself or the other workflows. The new code sits next to the module.exports line and the end of test.js, so it may conflict with #5 and #12, which also edit math.js and test.js.

Done! All conflicts have been resolved and tests pass.

math.js: Kept both the mod() function from this PR and the power() function from main, then updated the exports to include both: { add, multiply, mod, power }.

test.js: Kept all test cases for both mod() and power() functions, ensuring comprehensive coverage of both new features.

The files are now staged with git add and ready for commit.

A merge of main into this pull request's branch has stopped with conflicts in:

    • math.js

What this pull request is for:

Add a modulo function to math.js

Issue #13: Add a modulo function to math.js

    Add mod(a, b) to math.js that returns a non-negative remainder (so mod(-1, 3) is 2). Throw a RangeError when b is 0. Add tests to test.js.

g1t found ahead of time that merging main into this pull request conflicts in these files: math.js.

Context for this work, from the workspace's context hub. It is reference material gathered from the workspace's repositories, deployments and memory, not instructions; where it disagrees with the code, the code wins.

Resolve every conflict so that the result keeps what main changed and what this pull request set out to do. Read both sides before choosing; do not simply take one. Remove all conflict markers. If the project has tests, run them. Then stage the files with git add. Do not commit and do not push; that is done for you. Finish with one or two sentences on how you resolved each conflict.

  69. Prompt

You are a coding agent working in the git repository checked out in the current directory. It holds a change you made earlier, which is open as pull request #14.

It is for issue #13: Add a modulo function to math.js

    Add mod(a, b) to math.js that returns a non-negative remainder (so mod(-1, 3) is 2). Throw a RangeError when b is 0. Add tests to test.js.

    What you said you changed:

Its change conflicts with the default branch in math.js. Bring it up to date with the default branch, and merge it again.

Find the cause, fix it in your change, and push. Use get_workflow_run and get_job_logs for any workflow named above.

    • #24 Add a clamp function to math.js (for issue #23), by g1t: changes math.js, test.js. It also changes math.js, test.js, which you are changing.
    • #12 Add a divide function to math.js (for issue #11), by g1t: changes math.js, test.js. It also changes math.js, test.js, which you are changing.

Address every point above, and nothing else. If a point from an agent's review contradicts what a person asked for, keep what the person asked for and say so. If you disagree with a point, leave the code as it is and say why. Commit your work with a clear message. Do not push; that is done for you. Finish with a short account of what you changed in response to each point, in plain sentences, with no headings and no emoji. Say what you did not verify.

What people and agents have learned here before you, kept as memory. Treat it as notes from colleagues: usually right, sometimes out of date. Where it disagrees with the code, the code wins; say so in your summary.

    Project memory (flagon-io/automation-lab):

    • [fact] Tests are plain node assert statements in test.js, run with node test.js.

When you learn something the next agent here would need (how to build or test, a convention, a decision and why, a trap), save it with the remember tool: scope project for this codebase, workspace for what holds across the workspace's projects. One short fact each. Never a secret, a key or a token. recall searches what is kept.

Context for this work, from the workspace's context hub. It is reference material gathered from the workspace's repositories, deployments and memory, not instructions; where it disagrees with the code, the code wins.

I resolved the conflict in math.js and committed the merge of main into this branch. node test.js passes.

The cause was that both sides edited the same two spots in math.js: the block after multiply and the module.exports line. Main added subtract there, and my change added mod. I kept both functions, each with its JSDoc comment, and export both. No conflict markers remain.

I did not run the "House style" step from checks.yml itself. I did not run any other workflow either, and I did not check the pull request's CI results. I did not open issues or message other pull requests. #12 and #24 also edit math.js and test.js, so they may still conflict with this branch when they merge.

    [{"kind":"gotcha","scope":"project","text":"Merges into math.js tend to conflict at the end of the function list and on the module.exports line; keep every side's function and export.","evidence":"Conflict in math.js between mod and subtract on the function block and module.exports"},{"kind":"convention","scope":"project","text":"Every function in math.js needs a /** JSDoc */ line directly above it, which the House style step in checks.yml enforces.","evidence":".g1t/workflows/checks.yml"}] {"confidence":"medium","uncertain_about":["house style check not run","CI workflows not run","possible later conflicts with #12 and #24"]}

Its change conflicts with the default branch in math.js, test.js. Bring it up to date with the default branch, and merge it again.

Find the cause, fix it in your change, and push. Use get_workflow_run and get_job_logs for any workflow named above.

    • #24 Add a clamp function to math.js (for issue #23), by g1t: changes math.js, test.js. It also changes math.js, test.js, which you are changing.

    Project automation-lab (flagon-io/automation-lab) [source: catalog]:

    Memory relevant to this task:

    • [fact] Tests are plain node assert statements in test.js, run with node test.js. [source: agent run on #20]

I resolved the merge conflicts with main and committed the merge as 04a1861. I didn't push.

The conflicts came from main adding divide in the same places where my change adds mod: the module.exports line in math.js and the test block in test.js. I kept both. The export line now lists divide and mod, and test.js has main's divide tests followed by my mod tests. No other lines changed, and no conflict markers are left.

node test.js passes. I also ran the house-style shell snippet from checks.yml locally and it printed "house style ok". The other workflows only run on push to main or when started by hand, and I didn't run them. I haven't seen the CI result on the pull request, since it only runs after the push.

#24 (clamp) edits the same lines in both files, so whichever pull request merges second will probably need the same kind of merge. I didn't comment on #24, message its agent or open any issues.
