  3. Prompt

    You are a coding agent working in the git repository checked out in the current directory.

    Issue #50: Document --lang in the README usage section

    The --lang option now exists (en default, es, fr; unknown values are an error listing the supported languages). In README.md, under ## Usage, add a row --lang LANG to the arguments table (supported values en, es, fr; defaults to en) and add example blocks in the same style as the existing ones, e.g. cargo run -- --lang es Ana -> ¡Hola, Ana! and cargo run -- --lang fr Luc -> Bonjour, Luc !. Optionally add a short Troubleshooting entry for the unknown-language error (exit status 2, stderr message naming en, es, fr). Verify the examples by running them. Only edit README.md.

    These commands must pass when you are done. Run them if the tools are installed:

    • cargo run -- --lang es Ana
    • cargo run -- --lang fr Luc
    • grep -q -- '--lang' README.md

    Other agents and people are working in this repository at the same time. These pull requests are in progress, and any of them may merge before yours:

    • #38 Add an Examples section to the README (for issue #37), by g1t-agent: changes README.md
    • #8 Greet in Spanish and French (for issue #2), by g1t-agent: changes Cargo.lock, src/lib.rs, src/main.rs
    • #7 Greet in Spanish and French (for issue #2), by g1t-agent: changes README.md, src/lib.rs, src/main.rs

    Keep your change to what your task needs. Where you have to change the same files as one of these, keep your edits small and local so both can merge cleanly: do not reformat, reorder or move code you do not need to change, and do not do work that belongs to one of them.

    You have g1t's own tools (mcp__g1t__…) for this repository. Use them to work with the other agents and people here rather than around them: if you find something that needs doing outside your task, open an issue for it with create_issue, saying what and why and naming the pull request you are working on, instead of widening your change; to tell another pull request's author something, such as a conflict you can see coming, comment on it with add_comment; get_pull_request shows another pull request's change and the files it shares with others. Mention anything you opened or said in your summary.

    Make the change and keep it focused on the issue. Commit your work with a clear message. Do not push; that is done for you. Finish with a short summary of what you changed and why. It becomes the description of your pull request, so write it for a reviewer: plain sentences, no headings, no emoji, no checklists, and nothing about whether anything was committed or pushed. Say what you did not verify.

    ## Usage

    | Argument | Description |
    | -------- | ----------- |
    | `NAME` | Optional. The name to greet. Only the first argument is read. Defaults to the `USER` environment variable, then to `world`. |
    | `--shout` | Upper-cases the greeting. |
    | `--version` | Prints the crate version and exits. |
    | `--times N` | Prints the greeting `N` times. Defaults to 1. |

    ```sh
    $ cargo run -- Ada
    Hi, Ada!
    ```

    ```sh
    $ cargo run -- --shout Ada
    HI, ADA!
    ```

    ```sh
    $ cargo run -- --times 2 Ada
    Hi, Ada!
    Hi, Ada!
    ```

    ```sh
    $ cargo run -- --version
    0.1.0
    ```

    With no name it greets whoever is signed in.

    ## Output

    ```sh
    $ cargo run -- Grace
    Hi, Grace!
    ```

    ## Develop

    This project uses the Rust 2021 edition.

    ```sh
    cargo test
    ```

    ## Troubleshooting

    **`error: --times value must be a number, got "abc"`**

    `--times` needs a whole number of zero or more. If the value is anything else, such as `abc`, `-1` or `2.5`, the program prints this error to stderr and exits with status 2 without greeting anyone. Pass a plain number, for example `--times 3`. A `--times` with no value after it also fails, with `--times requires a value`.

    **The greeting says `Hi, world!` when I gave a name**

    An empty or whitespace-only name, such as `cargo run -- ""`, is treated as no name and the greeting uses `world`. It does not fall back to the `USER` environment variable; that only happens when no name argument is given at all. Check that your shell is not expanding the name to an empty string, for example from an unset variable like `"$NAME"`.

    I documented --lang in README.md and only touched that file.

    • Arguments table: I added a --lang LANG row. It lists en, es and fr as the supported values and en as the default.
    • Examples: I added the two blocks from the issue, --lang es Ana and --lang fr Luc. I put them after the --times example and before --version, in the same style as the existing ones.
    • Troubleshooting: I added an entry for the unknown-language error. It explains the exit status 2 and that stderr names en, es and fr.

    I ran cargo run -- --lang es Ana and cargo run -- --lang fr Luc. They printed ¡Hola, Ana! and Bonjour, Luc !. I also ran --lang de X, which exited with status 2 and printed error: --lang value must be one of en, es, fr, got "de". That matches the new Troubleshooting entry. I did not run grep -q -- '--lang' README.md, but the file now contains --lang.

    PRs #7 and #38 also edit README.md. My additions are small and local, but I did not check whether they conflict with those PRs. I did not open any issues or leave comments on other PRs.

  9. Note

    This run cost $0.0425 over 3 turns.
